Mood: waiting for wind
18th March 2006
Windsurfing: Hayling Island - Inn on the Beach
Wind Direction: cross - cross off
Wind Stength: F4-5
Surf / Sea State: bump & jump
Air Temperature: chilly
Sea Temperature: chilly
Weather: ok
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Must have been 8-10 people off the inn on the Beach at Hayling. Took a while to fill in properly swinging cross-off and then more cross shore. Wasn't particularly warm, didn't wear gloves and questioned the sanity of this decision as the hot hands got me.

After lots of fannying about, eventually rigged 5.7m Expression and X-Style Wave 109. Wind dropped on the inside a swung a little more offshore so came back in couple beaches the wrong side of the pub to go through the pain barrier, before stuffing back upwind and then having a bit more fun as picked up.

Proper mix of kit out as water was pretty flat, with some wind blown lumps (wrong direction wind for sandbar to be working), X15 6.5m on Isonic 105, Fanatic 85ltr Freewave with 5.4m Search, *board Aero with 6.5m ish, *board F160 with 10.0m (briefly!), S Type 115 with 7.0m, Hypersonic with 6.0m, 7.8m RS5 on Isonic 125, 6.5m NitroV on Isonic 105 .... and others I didn't note ...

Sunny, windy ... but not the warmest session ... but probably more satisfying that watching the french beat wales in the rugger
